Dogs at the Pazeider

Not every room is intended for a holiday with a dog. Some rooms and suites are exclusively for allergy sufferers. We ask for your understanding. Our staff will be happy to advise you on your room choice.

Even if your four-legged friend is impeccably trained, please keep him on a leash throughout the hotel area, including the outdoor facilities, to prevent unwanted incidents and to ensure the well-being of all guests.

Your dog is welcome to accompany you to the restaurant. Special areas are designated for this. Please let our service staff seat you accordingly. Please do not feed your dog in the restaurant. The buffet is for you alone.

The SPA & Wellness area, the children’s playroom, and the wine cellar are not accessible to your four-legged friend.

An outdoor dog washing station is under construction (as of August 2023). In the future, it will be possible to get your four-legged friend “hotel-ready” again if needed. (We know what we’re talking about when our dog Nico stands at the hotel entrance after frolicking in the apple orchard and along the Adige river.)

Around the hotel, outside the sunbathing lawns and pools, your four-legged friend will find plenty of space to play and run, right down to the Adige river. Dog swimming on the bank is possible, a very special pleasure in the rustic natural landscape.

Of course, we assume that picking up your dog’s waste is normal for you. Please pick up dog waste in the outdoor areas of the Pazeider, in the apple orchards, and on green spaces. The same applies to the streets and paths of South Tyrol.

E-bike rental at the hotel

The reception will be happy to inform you about the most interesting bike tours in the vicinity of our hotel and the surrounding area. 5 e-bikes are available for guests. Please inquire at the reception.

Rental fee: 29.00 Euro / day or 175.00 Euro / week

Train station

The Marling train station is about a 5-minute walk away. You can take bus line 212 to get directly to the center of Merano or the Merano train station in about 15 minutes. The bus runs every half hour until early evening.

Payment

In addition to cash, we accept EC cards, Maestro, Visa, and MasterCard. Bill the evening before: no problem, we will be happy to prepare everything necessary so you can depart conveniently and without waiting.

Bicycle storage

You can conveniently store your bicycles in our garage. There you will also find the possibility to charge your e-bikes.

Air conditioning

  • THE FACS climate system: Stephan Kofler and his good friend, Hans Beltrami, spent months tinkering with an air conditioning system for the Pazeider that is quiet, draft-free, ecological, and low-energy. You can feel the innovative result, the Fresh Air Climate System (FACS for short), in your rooms, or rather, you can hardly feel it at all. This world-first cools or warms based on water, which is distributed behind the walls and in the ceilings via a pipe system. Notice the doubling of the walls, “disguised” as stylistic elements. The operating principle and the technology behind it will be gladly explained to you personally by Stephan Kofler, the hotel owner. Just ask him.
  • For the sake of the environment and to save resources, our rooms are cooled to a maximum of 21°C from May to September. We ask for your understanding – the environment will thank you for it!

MeranCard

You will receive the MeranCard upon your arrival; it is included free of charge in the room price and is valid for the duration of your stay. It includes various services such as: free use of all public transport throughout South Tyrol and selected cable cars in South Tyrol, one-time entry to over 80 museums, a 10% discount on bike and ski rentals at Sportservice Erwin Stricker, and other exclusive offers and services.

The MeranCard is valid all year round.

Pazeide

Pazeide – The Pazeide, a heart-shaped scooping vessel used to ladle fine wine from barrel to barrel, gave the farm its name. For more than three generations, the Pazeider has been run as a family-owned wellness hotel, and now also an organic hotel, in South Tyrol – with heart and soul. Because we at Pazeider are only satisfied when you are well with us.

Parking

Our options include a spacious garage, which is available to you for an additional charge of only 10 euros per day. Alternatively, we also offer an outdoor parking space that you can use free of charge.

Marlinger Waalweg

As our hotel is only a 5-10 minute walk from the Waalweg (irrigation channel path), it is the ideal starting point to explore this unique hiking trail. The Waalweg runs almost flat along the irrigation channel and is therefore particularly suitable for family outings. At 12 km, it is the longest of its kind in South Tyrol. The starting point is Töll (municipality of Partschins), after which it runs above the villages of Forst, Marling, and Tscherms, and ends in Oberlana.

The 5 Tibetans

“The 5 Tibetans” are a series of five powerful and dynamic exercises based on the teachings of Tibetan monks. Each movement is carefully designed to bring body, mind, and soul into harmony and to increase overall well-being. Every Wednesday at 4:30 PM, you can participate in a session of The 5 Tibetans with the host.

Wine cellar

Discover our unique wine cellar, which has been proudly opening its doors to wine lovers since 1776. Our wine cellar is more than just a room full of fine wines – it is a living treasure trove of wine tradition. For generations, we have carefully preserved select wines from renowned vineyards and offer you an exquisite selection that will impress even the most demanding palates.

The Berkel Slicer - Interesting facts & events

A real eye-catcher is the restored original Berkel slicer from 1938, which you can admire in the restaurant. It is a further development of the machine invented by the Rotterdam master butcher Wilhelmus Adrianus van Berkel in the 1890s. The Berkel patent was that a handwheel set a movable table slide in motion, which glided towards a sharp, curved, rotating blade. Then as now, it is impressive how ham, sausage, and meat can be sliced precisely, paper-thin, and quickly with manual automation.

At Pazeider, the Berkel is in regular use for our guests. Would you like to learn more about the history of the Berkel, taste fine ham, and enjoy a wonderful drop from the wine cellar? Then sign up for our “Wine Seminar & Berkel”. For this, Stephan Kofler, the owner of the hotel, regularly opens his ancient wine cellar for you. There will be tasting, sampling, cheerful chatting, asking questions, and of course, eating paper-thin sliced ham or bacon along with delicious organic bread from our in-house bakery. Ask at the reception for the dates.

BOSCO Sorrenta Espresso Machine - A cult object, not just coffee

Bosco stands for unique craftsmanship from Naples. Each machine is a one-of-a-kind piece, produced with much love, refined design, high-quality materials, and great attention to detail. Stephan Kofler, owner of the hotel and a coffee lover with a fine, subtle taste, fell in love with this piece of craftsmanship at some point. To the delight of the guests at Pazeider, you will be greeted by the host or his staff upon arrival with an espresso from this noble Bosco machine. When time permits, Stephan Kofler is always on the lookout for particularly suitable coffee varieties and cups, preparation methods, and suppliers.

Pazeider Organic Shop - Culinary delights to take home

The Pazeider Organic Shop offers culinary delights to take home for those who stayed behind or for yourself. Once home, as you open the delicious organic bread spreads, slice the South Tyrolean ham, or the sensational smoked salmon, you will cherish the best memories of your dream holiday at Pazeider. Take a piece of culinary delights back home with you.

The Pazeider Organic Shop is currently under renovation and expansion. Therefore, the display of individual products is integrated into the restaurant area. Ham, cheese, and other fresh products are, of course, kept cool. Please ask our restaurant staff about the current assortment. There you will also find order forms, prices, and other information.

The service team will prepare your take-away order in time for your departure. You can conveniently pay at check-out.

In-house bakery and patisserie - Celebration cakes to order

All breads, as well as pastries and delicious dessert creations, are made daily in-house in our bakery and patisserie by experienced bakers and confectioners. Of course, only the finest organic flour and ingredients find their way into these treats. There are different offers daily. Try them. You will be delighted.

Are you celebrating a special occasion at Pazeider? Our patisserie will be happy to create your personalized cake or pastry creation to order. Please note that we need some lead time for this. The earlier you order, the better for us.

Avoiding food waste

Our ethical commitment to using all natural resources wisely naturally includes wasting and throwing away as little as possible. This is not always easy in the kitchen and restaurant.

At Pazeider, we have sworn by the following rules. We would like to ask you to support us in this:

We plan, harvest, and purchase with foresight:

The Pazeider organic garden supplies seasonal fruit, vegetables, and herbs. The gardener and kitchen work closely together. The gardener provides information on ripeness, harvest time, and quantities. The kitchen creates the meal plan. We also appreciate your input if you notice anything relevant during a walk through the Pazeider area.

Our guests are cared for at the highest culinary level. We prepare everything fresh, creative, and delicious in average portion sizes per person to avoid leftovers.

This means you will be served rather smaller portions. Please do not hesitate to order more. We are happy to prepare a second helping for you (which, of course, will not be charged extra).

The guest buffet for the organic vital breakfast is moderately stocked in terms of quantity.

Everything that has already come from the kitchen to the table, including the buffet table, must be disposed of if there are leftovers. Our service strives to quickly replenish or refill what is missing. Please let us know if you miss anything. You will be helped immediately. Thank you!

Leftovers that have not yet reached the guest are processed further.

This applies to already washed fruit, vegetables, or herbs, from which the bakery, patisserie, and kitchen create delicious items: jams, fruit cakes, desserts, pesto, and much more.

Transfer

Are you traveling eco-friendly by train or bus? We will pick you up from the following stations: Merano, Marling, Bolzano (on request). Please inform us of your pickup request at least 48 hours before arrival, by phone or email.

Ayurveda & Siddhaveda

From Juni  to September 2026, the Indian Siddhaveda master Rejith offers a traditional Ayurvedic healing treatment at the Bio-Hotel Pazeider.

For over 500 years, the ancient knowledge in Rejith’s family has been passed down from generation to generation to keep the traditional art of healing alive. Rejith has also studied classical conventional medicine to supplement and round off his existing knowledge.

Our organic philosophy

Is Pazeider a certified organic hotel?

Pazeider was certified organic for five years. Over time, however, we developed from simply using organic products into increasingly becoming producers ourselves: we cultivate our own vegetable garden and small vineyard, produce our own wine and bake some of our bread in-house.

As a result, certification became increasingly complex, time-consuming and economically disproportionate. We therefore made a conscious decision to invest our financial and human resources directly in our food, garden, sustainable technology and responsible cultivation rather than primarily in certification fees, inspections and administration.

Today, Pazeider no longer carries an official organic certification label. Our philosophy, however, has not changed. Our garden is cultivated without synthetic chemical pesticides or fertilisers. In our vineyard, we avoid glyphosate and use sulphur and copper only when necessary and in the smallest possible quantities. Around 80 per cent of the wines in our cellar come from organic cultivation.

Not all food and products made by us are officially certified organic. We therefore want to communicate transparently and do not claim that our entire range is certified organic. For us, organic means above all acting responsibly every day – in the garden, in the vineyard, in the kitchen, when choosing our suppliers and when using energy and natural resources.
